Conventual Franciscan Friars is international religious order in the Catholic Church. In Kenya, We are only a small part of a large community all over the world, known as the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, founded by St. Francis of Assisi in Italy in XIII century.... According to the Franciscan tradition 3rd October for the spiritual sons and daughters of St. Francis of Assisi is the day of commemorating his Transitus – passing from earthy to heavenly life. For last few years it has been a tradition that all branches of Franciscan Family (I, II and III Order) gather together to celebrate that important day. This year hundreds of Sisters and Brother prayed together at the formation house of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Assisi... Ruiri Catholic Mission is situated in the Eastern part of Kenya, near Meru town, within the Catholic Diocese of Meru, and occupies a space of nine and half hectares. To reach the Mission, you have to travel a distance of 250 kilometers from Nairobi, the capital city, and then still 14 kilometers more from Meru town....
